DeepSeek Plans to Expand Team to 1,000 People, Setting a New High in Hiring Demand

DeepSeek Harness team leader Cui Tianyi announced on social media that the team currently has about 150 job openings, covering positions in large model research platforms, Agent framework components, R&D efficiency infrastructure, and data engineering. Cui Tianyi pointed out that this hiring demand is unprecedented and stated, "When the scale of anything in the computer field increases, it will lead to a huge increase in complexity. The volume of data, machines/containers, training tasks, evaluation tasks, Agent environments, users, requests, etc., are all increasing rapidly."

According to a report by White Whale Lab, DeepSeek's recruitment numbers may far exceed 150. An investor from a first-tier institution revealed that DeepSeek's goal this year is to expand its team size to 1,000 people, which would be comparable to the Zhi Pu team. The 2025 prospectus of Zhi Pu shows that it has 883 employees, and according to third-party estimates, the Zhi Pu team is expected to be around 1,000 people this year.

Additionally, the Moon's Dark Side Kimi team currently maintains a stable small team size, with only about 300 people. Despite the popularity of Kimi K3, the Moon's Dark Side team has not increased in size. According to CNMO Technology, in June this year, DeepSeek officially announced that all departments would "at least double in size," and at that time, 33 types of positions were opened, covering algorithms, R&D, operations, products, data engineering, and functional departments. Meanwhile, DeepSeek has publicly announced two large-scale financings this year, with each financing amount close to 5 billion.
