Vipshop launches self-developed AI assistant "AI Xiaowei", conducts gray-scale testing of product comparison function

Vipshop recently launched the AI assistant "AI Xiaowei", independently developed by its large model team. The assistant supports text and voice interaction, with capabilities including finding products, querying promotions, and consulting on discounts. The platform is simultaneously conducting gray-scale testing of an AI product comparison function to assist users in decision-making.

Vipshop continues to advance AI technology to enhance user experience

It is understood that Vipshop recently adjusted the product form of its AI product comparison function. Previously, when users searched for specific categories such as sports shoes, the product detail page would automatically pop up an AI-generated comparison module, extracting core parameters of individual items for horizontal price comparison. Currently, the front-end direct display entry has been adjusted. Vipshop customer service confirmed that the tool has been updated, and users can currently access it via two paths: one is to select multiple items in the shopping cart and click compare; the other is to enter the AI Xiaowei interface and actively select different products for comparative analysis.

To support the advancement of related business, Vipshop is actively expanding its large model R&D team on its recruitment platform, hiring for positions including large model post-training lead, LLM data alignment lead, and large model SFT text data lead, with monthly salaries between 50,000 yuan and 80,000 yuan. The main task of this batch of technical personnel is to refine AI Xiaowei's capabilities in shopping intent recognition, product understanding, personalized recommendation, and multi-turn dialogue, and to build corresponding datasets to support continuous algorithm iteration.

Vipshop's Q2 2026 financial report shows net revenue of 24.7 billion yuan for the period, down 4.3% year-on-year. Vipshop Chairman and CEO Shen Ya said the platform is advancing transformation of core links, with AI technology becoming a key engine driving growth and efficiency upgrades.
