Tencent's Global Digital Ecosystem Conference Introduces "AI Interviewer" Role-Reversal Experience, Focusing on AI Applications in Business Scenarios

The 2026 Tencent Global Digital Ecosystem Conference will take place from October 29 to 30 at the Shenzhen International Convention and Exhibition Center, emphasizing the practical application of Agents in real business scenarios. According to CNMO Technology, in addition to regular releases and exhibitions, the conference will feature a role-reversal segment where real people act as "AI Interviewers" to engage in face-to-face interactions with Tencent AI products like WorkBuddy.

Tencent's WorkBuddy differs from typical AI-assisted interviews, as this segment focuses on a reverse evaluation. Participants can formulate questions, follow-ups, and even challenge the AI based on their professional roles to assess the AI's usability and reliability in their specific work contexts. Tencent stated that the criteria for evaluating AI are changing: the focus has shifted from whether AI is intelligent or articulate to whether it can perform specific tasks and deliver usable results.

Tencent Conference to Focus on AI Applications in Business

This assessment aligns with recent industry discussions. At the AI Large Model Workshop 2026 Industry Ecosystem Conference held in September, signals indicated that corporate AI competition is shifting from "Can the model answer questions?" to "Can it be embedded in processes, complete tasks, and deliver consistently?" WorkBuddy, one of the products being interviewed, has previously been applied in job-seeking and interview scenarios. In September 2026, Gaodun, in collaboration with Tencent WorkBuddy, launched the "University Student Internship Employment Assistant," which includes an interview module that features real questions from campus recruitment and civil service exams, providing structured, realistic mock interviews and real-time evaluation of interview techniques.

Relevant capabilities are encapsulated in the WorkBuddy ecosystem Skill, integrating multiple data interfaces for assessment, positions, resumes, and interviews. In addition to an open segment for all attendees, Tencent will also recruit a separate group of an "official interview team" to conduct concentrated interviews with the AI on-site.
