The robot's entire body has 76 degrees of freedom, with each hand having 21 degrees of freedom, giving IRON a high degree of flexibility in manipulating objects and performing complex physical tasks.

Its physical design is equipped with powerful computing capabilities, with three Turing AI chips providing up to 2,250 TOPS of effective computing power. This enables XPeng to run its physical artificial intelligence foundation models directly on the robot, without relying on remote computing or remote control to handle complex tasks. According to XPeng, on-board inference is designed to reduce latency, allowing IRON to process information faster and react to its environment more quickly, while keeping operational data on the robot.

Future Business Plans and Market Launch

The robot is designed as a general-purpose platform capable of handling a wide range of applications and self-improving through real-world experience.
