On September 8th, @MagicOS announced that Honor and Meituan have officially established the "Joint Lab for Basic Experience." The two parties will engage in in-depth cooperation in areas such as user basic experience, intelligent living services, and AI innovation interactions.
Meituan and Honor have learned that issues such as slow page transitions when ordering takeout and increased battery consumption after prolonged use of mobile applications often affect daily usage experiences more than new feature updates. The focus of Honor and Meituan's collaboration is to extend optimization to the system scheduling and application operation chain levels. The two parties will conduct targeted optimizations for smoothness, power consumption, memory, network, and stability.
Honor and Meituan's Collaboration Will Improve User Experience
In high-frequency scenarios such as ordering takeout, navigating to stores, and booking rides, mobile phones running multiple applications in the background are prone to lagging, reloading, and abnormal power consumption. The joint lab will optimize the system at a fundamental level to provide users with a more stable experience during prolonged use and under different network conditions.
This collaboration did not start from scratch. Previously, Honor and Meituan have launched interactive features such as "tap to share" coupons and the agile capsule. The former makes it more convenient to share discounts at close range, while the latter displays Meituan's takeout delivery status on the lock screen or desktop for users to keep track of information in real time. Recently, Meituan's intelligent assistant "Xiao Tuan" has officially joined Honor MagicOS.
Honor has previously established a joint lab for basic experience with Douyin, focusing on areas such as smart connectivity and AI innovation. This collaboration with Meituan to build a joint lab is another move by Honor to extend its system-level optimization capabilities to the field of local living services.
