Recently, the 2026 China Unicom Partner Conference was held at the Shanghai Expo Center. As a long-term strategic partner of China Unicom, OPPO was invited to attend and showcased its core achievements and forward-looking plans in the field of 6G communication technology. Additionally, OPPO received the "Terminal Innovation Award" from China Unicom. At this exhibition, OPPO presented a comprehensive display across multiple dimensions including "6G Communication," "Smart Devices," "AI," and "Imaging," showcasing a complete layout from underlying communication technologies to terminal application scenarios.
In the 6G field, OPPO has systematically focused on three main directions: "6G Wireless," "6G Intelligent Networking," and "6G Communication-Perception Fusion." In the area of 6G wireless technology, OPPO's "Minimalist Multi-functional" system design concept has become one of the basic principles of 6G air interface design, with deep expertise in key technical directions such as speed improvement, coverage enhancement, spectrum efficiency, and energy efficiency enhancement. OPPO began researching wireless AI technology in the early days of 5G commercialization in 2019 and has consecutively hosted seven 5G/6G AI competitions, attracting over 4,500 teams to participate, with some competition topics being incorporated into the core research agenda of the 3GPP standards.
OPPO's Forward-Looking 6G Layout Continues to Advance
OPPO cellular technology expert Shen Jia said in an interview, "In the next decade, 5G and 6G communication processing will be integrated into the larger framework of AI processing, with an estimated 80% to 90% of computing power dedicated to AI services, and only 10% to 20% for processing 5G and 6G communications." In the field of 6G intelligent networking, OPPO released the white paper "AI-Cube Empowered 6G Network Architecture" in 2021, innovatively proposing a three-dimensional "Intelligent Cube" (AI-Cube) architecture, achieving a leap from network external optimization to endogenous intelligence, and leading the standardization of end-network intelligent entity intent communication schemes.
In the field of 6G communication-perception fusion, OPPO has accumulated years of technical research in areas such as Micro-Doppler sensing scenarios, terminal and base station cooperative sensing, and terminal active sensing, and is an active participant in international 6G perception research and standardization. OPPO has always maintained an open attitude, actively participating in 6G industry activities and conducting 6G cutting-edge technology exploration and application research with partners. During the conference, OPPO was invited to participate in the establishment ceremony of the Unicom-hosted End-Network Collaborative Communication Industry Alliance and the AIDN Innovation Industry Alliance, and will work together in the future to promote the accelerated commercialization of related technologies.
In addition to its forward-looking 6G layout, OPPO also showcased its latest smart device product lineup at the conference site, including the Find N series foldable flagship, Find X series imaging flagship, Reno series and A series smartphones, as well as OPPO Watch X3, OPPO Enco Clip2, OPPO Pad 5 Pro and other IoT products, fully presenting OPPO's all-scenario layout in the smart device field. On the exhibition booth, the AI capabilities and imaging strengths carried by these terminal products were also open for experience.
At the "OPPO AI" exhibition area, system-level AI experiences such as AI One-Click Memo and AI Real Scene Conversation were showcased to visitors. AI One-Click Memo allows for one-click saving and automatic categorization of fragmented information such as videos, articles, and meal codes; AI Real Scene Conversation supports continuous and natural voice interaction and voiceprint recognition. At the "OPPO Imaging" exhibition area, the flagship phones equipped with the Hasselblad imaging system and the sample photos taken with the self-developed LUMO imaging technology became the focus. LUMO imaging, as OPPO's newly self-developed full-chain imaging technology system, can vividly restore the light and shadow levels and color tension seen by the naked eye, covering full-scenario shooting needs such as travel photography, concerts, spectator events, and night tours.
Facing the future, OPPO will continue to focus on core technology areas such as 6G and artificial intelligence, working together with China Unicom and industry chain partners to continuously explore in the fields of intelligent communication, digital life services, and integration of emerging technologies, jointly promoting the commercialization of 6G technology from standards to reality, bringing users a smarter and more efficient communication experience.
