OpenAI officially launches GPT-6 model and Intelligent UI, a new conversational interface feature

OpenAI announced today that, following last month's release of the first GPT-6 models, an update designed for general users is now officially rolling out: the fine-tuned GPT-6 model has officially entered ChatGPT, and a new interface feature called Intelligent UI has been launched. This means the ChatGPT conversational experience will no longer be limited to pure text back-and-forth, but will dynamically combine text, visual elements, and interactive components based on the nature of the question.

According to the rollout schedule, the more capable GPT-6 Sol will be available to ChatGPT Plus, Pro, Business, and Enterprise subscribers, while the lighter-weight GPT-6 Luna will begin rolling out to Free and Go users starting tomorrow. In other words, even free users will be able to quickly access the everyday conversational version of the new generation model.

OpenAI launches all-new Intelligent UI to elevate ChatGPT experience

Intelligent UI is the core of this update. According to OpenAI's introduction, responses will no longer be limited to text, but can also include graphics, clickable buttons, forms, charts, and interactive experiences that can be used directly within the conversation. The presentation format depends on the type of user query: for comparison questions, side-by-side display may be most intuitive; for explanatory questions, interactive diagrams may be easier to understand; and in cases where a simple text answer is most practical, ChatGPT will also honestly provide plain text.

In its official blog, OpenAI demonstrated how different queries trigger different forms of visual assistance. For more complex queries, ChatGPT can generate interactive components that let users explore concepts hands-on, or adjust input parameters to observe how results change in real time. ChatGPT can now even create various interactive widgets directly in the conversation, such as calculators, AA bill splitters, and mini-games, without users needing to leave the chat window.

Beyond changes to interaction methods, GPT-6 has also improved how answers are generated. OpenAI states that, thanks to the new model, ChatGPT can begin answering while continuing to think, progressively supplementing information in the response as reasoning advances, without having to wait until the entire thought process concludes before outputting a complete answer. This will noticeably improve the response experience for long-form questions.
