NetEase Cloud Music and Unitree Robotics collaborate to launch first robot natural language song request feature

On October 13, NetEase Cloud Music and Unitree Robotics announced a deep collaboration to jointly launch a robot natural language song request experience. Currently, the feature covers Unitree Robotics' Go2 robot dog, as well as G1 and R1 general-purpose humanoid robot terminal models. Both parties say this marks the first application of natural language song request capability to related robot products in the industry.

According to the introduction, the feature is built on Unitree Robotics' AI large model voice companion "Benben." Users can issue natural language commands such as "play a cheerful song" directly to the robot, or state specific song titles. After recognizing the request, the robot will call up NetEase Cloud Music's licensed music library and play the corresponding content, without the user needing to manually search and operate via a phone or other device.

In addition to voice song requests, the relevant robots can also perform dance movements based on the music beat, creating linkage between music playback and the robot's motor capabilities. Both parties plan to apply this feature to scenarios such as child companionship and family entertainment, further expanding the use of music services on embodied intelligence terminals.

In recent years, NetEase Cloud Music has continuously added AI-related features, launching products and services including AI Mixing Master, the self-developed music recommendation large model Climber, NetEase Tianyin "AI Songwriting," AI Inspiration Playlists, and the Xiaobao intelligent agent, covering music recommendation, content creation, and interactive experiences. Unitree Robotics, meanwhile, has laid out quadruped robot and general-purpose humanoid robot products, and is advancing the deployment of related terminals in different scenarios.

NetEase Cloud Music stated that it will continue to iterate features and interactive gameplay with Unitree Robotics, exploring embodied intelligence music experiences adapted to real-world usage scenarios.
