Honor AI Chief Scientist Discusses MagicOS 11: Advancing AI Operating System Evolution and Commercialization

On September 8, Honor's AI Chief Scientist Huang Fei reposted reports about MagicOS 11, stating that from MagicOS 6.0 to MagicOS 10.0, Honor has been exploring the development direction of AI operating systems and is driving the evolution of the system from a traditional operating system to an Agentic OS. Huang Fei expressed that he fully agrees with the report's viewpoint: from MagicOS 6.0 to MagicOS 10.0, Honor has been leading the exploration and evolution of AI operating systems, turning uncharted territory into a main thoroughfare.

Now, MagicOS 11 has taken a further step, becoming the first mobile operating system in the industry to truly achieve system-level Agent Harness commercialization.

He explained that through YOYO Harness, Honor has deeply integrated model capabilities with the perception, planning, tool invocation, and execution capabilities of mobile terminals, allowing this architecture to truly serve the scenarios consumers use every day. The new generation YOYO is a direct manifestation of this architecture. Huang Fei stated that their ultimate goal is to provide users with a smarter, more proactive, and richer YOYO service: one that can understand needs more accurately, proactively offer assistance at the right time, and get things done as the user instructed.

Honor MagicOS 11 to Officially Launch in October

According to previous reports, the new generation YOYO can disassemble tasks with hundreds of steps, close loops for over a hundred types of services, and support more than 40 condition triggers — achieving this at a system level rather than an application level is no small feat. Honor MagicOS 11 will begin recruiting for the Agentic OS preview beta and push updates on the Magic 9 in October this year. On September 15, Honor MagicOS 11 will officially debut, with the Magic 9 series being the first to feature it.
