Google Gemini App Offers Daily Briefing Feature for Free in the US

Google introduced the "Daily Briefing" feature at its I/O conference in May 2026, and it is now available for free in the Gemini app in the US. The "Daily Briefing" generates a list of to-dos and priorities every morning. Gemini leverages personal intelligence technology to analyze the user's Gmail, Google Calendar, and other connected apps, as well as past Gemini chat history. The "Daily Briefing" begins with a "Top of Mind" section, displaying "timely, actionable items," such as upcoming tasks.

The "FYI" section will display other items with dates attached. "Looking Ahead" is the final section, focusing on long-term goals and "suggested next steps to help you achieve them." Users can click on items to "mark as done" or to "chat" with Gemini. Additionally, users can leave feedback indicating whether the briefing was "helpful" or "not helpful."

For example, students can use this feature to manage their class schedules, organize study plans, and track application statuses; entrepreneurs can extract actionable client emails and update task reminders; parents can manage school communications, track family milestones, and handle household chores; job seekers can quickly respond to recruiters' inquiries, prepare for interviews, and monitor application statuses. As of last Friday, the Gemini Daily Briefing in the US no longer requires a Google AI subscription and is now open to personal Google accounts, provided that personal intelligence, memory, and Google Workspace integration features are enabled.

Users can access the feature via the Gemini sidebar, and Google will also send a notification every morning. Users can turn off this reminder by going into their account menu and configuring the "notifications." Another way to interact with the briefing is through Gemini's "What's my Daily Briefing?" feature.
