Google has begun emailing Gemini AI Plus subscribers, notifying them that starting November 13, 2026, the Gemini subscription will no longer include access to advanced models, limited to Flash models only. Earlier this month, Google announced changes to Gemini's subscription model, coinciding with the launch of the new Argon model as Gemini's new high-performance offering. The company has made clear that Gemini 4 Argon will be available only to AI Pro and AI Ultra subscribers, while AI Plus subscribers will completely lose access to AI Pro.
According to feedback from a Reddit user, Google has begun emailing AI Plus subscribers informing them that starting November 13, the Gemini Pro model will no longer be included in the AI Plus tier. The email listed Flash-Lite and Flash as the only two options after that date.
Gemini AI Plan to Undergo Major Changes on November 13, 2026
The email states: "We want to inform you about model access changes to your Google AI Plus plan. Starting November 13, 2026, the ability to select the Pro model — whether in the Gemini app or Google Search's AI Mode — will be available only to Google AI Pro subscribers and above. You will still have access to our latest Flash-Lite model and Flash, which are designed to deliver speed and intelligence.
Your previous chats using the Pro model can continue with other models." For more details on these changes, you can visit our help center article. You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time. Thank you for being a Google AI Plus subscriber. — Google One Team
Several other users reported receiving the same email, clearly marking the timeline for changes to the Gemini AI Plus plan. The US$4.99 (approx. HK$39) per month option will provide access to only two models, while the US$19.99 (approx. HK$156) per month tier grants access to Argon, widening the gap between the two. Google still retains a free plan allowing all users access to Flash-Lite. Naturally, these subscriptions are linked to Google Workspace cloud storage and other perks (such as YouTube Premium).
Nevertheless, the US$4.99 (approx. HK$39) per month plan still appears to be a solid choice for those seeking a more capable model.
