On October 23, DeepSeek announced the completion of a new funding round, attracting several industrial and financial investors, including Junlian Capital, Stone Creek Capital, and Geely. Junlian Capital, which is part of the Lenovo Holdings system, marks the official entry of Lenovo capital into DeepSeek's shareholder group with this investment.
According to related information from Lenovo, DeepSeek has hired CITIC Securities to provide advisory services for its initial public offering (IPO) and introduced a new Chief Financial Officer in September this year, with the IPO potentially advancing as early as early 2027.
DeepSeek to Further Expand Capital and Industrial Ecosystem
As an important investment platform within the Lenovo Holdings system, Junlian Capital is part of Lenovo Group, the core industrial company under Lenovo Holdings. Previously, Lenovo has conducted several product adaptations around DeepSeek and integrated DeepSeek models into AI PCs, servers, and enterprise AI solutions. Junlian Capital's participation in this funding round extends the relationship between the two parties from product and technology adaptation to capital and industrial ecosystem levels.
Currently, Lenovo's AI business covers areas such as AI endpoints, enterprise AI, and AI infrastructure. Among these, AI PCs, smartphones, and tablets require access to large model capabilities, while enterprise AI involves the integration of models, intelligent agents, and industry solutions. The server and data center business supports the computational power needs generated by model training and inference.
For DeepSeek, this funding round will provide financial support for model development, computational investment, and commercial expansion. With the entry of industrial capital, it may also help connect more endpoint devices, enterprise customers, and application scenarios, promoting the practical implementation of model capabilities in real business.
