For example, the KPAX 250 is a regional design category capable of processing 250,000 tons of waste annually. The facility is designed to serve an entire county or metropolitan area, providing 20-30 megawatts of continuous power output. By converting large urban waste streams into stable power, it offers a scalable energy solution for medium to large urban areas.

This is an ambitious proposal. Waste-to-energy technology typically faces political, environmental, and financial hurdles that are difficult to overcome.
