Anthropic opens new office in Singapore and signs government memorandum of understanding

Anthropic officially announced that the company is expanding its Asia-Pacific operations, opening its fifth office in Singapore and signing a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Singapore's Ministry of Digital Development and Information. Singapore is one of the company's most active markets globally, with Claude already supporting business and government services in Singapore, used by millions daily, including GovTech Singapore, Grab and DBS.

Long-term commitment to Singapore office

Anthropic Asia-Pacific General Manager Dale Finlay said: "Our long-term commitment to Singapore is very clear. Our customers here have extremely high standards for AI reliability and safety. Having a team on the ground means we can be closer to the organizations applying Claude to solve hard problems."

Supporting Singapore's responsible AI development

Singapore's Ministry of Digital Development and Information Permanent Secretary Kai Fong Chng and Anthropic co-founder Ben Mann signed the memorandum of understanding during Singapore International Cyber Week. The MOU establishes cooperation in areas including AI safety, security and model evaluation, and research on AI adoption and its impact.

"Singapore has long been a leader in responsible AI, with a long track record of investment in model testing and evaluation." Mann said. "We founded Anthropic on the conviction that capability and safety must go hand in hand. Through this MOU, we will work with Singapore to ensure the transition to powerful AI proceeds smoothly here, across the Asia-Pacific region and globally."
